WhatsApp could transfer money between users
WhatsApp has millions of users around the world and does not stop adding features to seduce them and do not go elsewhere. Now the rumors indicate that it would allow, first in India and then in other countries if it worked, the transfer of money between users.
WhatsApp, according to Brian Acton, the co-founder of the application, said in India that it has no less than 200 million users and the government has begun to perform demonetization that encourages the use of less physical money. For that reason the rumors indicate that this country was chosen like the one that will be used like guinea pig.
Unified Payments Interface (UPI) would be the payment system that would be used. It is managed by the National Payments Corporation of India and is endorsed by the country’s central bank, local media The Ken reported.
We still do not know if we can name it WhatsApp Money, or any other name that happens to us when there is the possibility of sending money via WhatsApp.
The possibility of launching a payment platform was already advanced by Acton during a trip to India in February. The service would be implemented in about six months.
